Try it at home!
Take a rubber band and stretch it between your hands, then pluck it. It's not very loud, is it? Find a small, empty Tupperware container without a lid and wrap the rubber band around it. Now pluck it. Do you notice how much louder it is? Now stretch tighter or loosen the area of the rubber band that is over the opening container. Now pluck it. When you tighten the rubber band, is it higher or lower? What about when you loosen it? Add more rubber bands and tighten or loosen various strings to make a makeshift instrument. Have fun!
